My daughter announced today that she wants an American Girl dollhouse for Christmas. While the vision of dollar signs danced in my head, the more practical side of my brain asked, “well Wendy, why not build the dollhouse?”
I immediately took to the internet, specifically my favorite site www.ana-white.com. While perusing her website, I found the perfect 18″ doll house that my daughter will absolutely love, 3 Story Dollhouse. Problem, it’s a little too tall for the space in which the doll house will live. No worries, with Sketch-up, I was able to easily adjust the plans and make a two story version of the dollhouse. Here’s what I came up with:
I have plenty of hot pink paint left over from my daughter’s loft bed, Plans-Twin Loft Bed, as well as the stain for the floors and some leftover lumber I can use for the project. I think she is going to LOVE this doll house.
Now, to keep this a secret from her until Christmas! I’ll be invading my Dad’s workshop for this project, which will help. So, for those who know my daughter personally, “mum’s the word!”
